Trusting God with What’s Ahead
The future is full of possibilities and uncertainties. As young professionals, we’re wired to dream, plan, and set goals. We map out career paths, imagine the communities we’ll build, and envision the lives we hope to lead. But if we’ve learned anything, it’s that the road ahead rarely unfolds exactly as we picture it.
Proverbs 16:9 reminds us: “In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.” Planning isn’t the problem – forgetting who guides the plan is. When our vision is built on God’s leading instead of our own understanding, the unknown stops being a threat and starts becoming an adventure.
God’s plans for us aren’t random. Jeremiah 29:11 speaks directly to this truth: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” This is more than a comforting verse – it’s a promise that our future is already held in His hands.
As Adventist young professionals, our mission is bigger than our résumés or LinkedIn profiles. We’re called to build a future that reflects Christ’s love and kingdom priorities. That might mean making bold moves, embracing change, or stepping into opportunities we didn’t see coming. But it also means staying rooted in the One who sees the end from the beginning.
In seasons of change, vision is more than a statement – it’s a posture of faith. It’s looking forward with confidence, not because we know every detail, but because we know the God who does.
So let’s keep dreaming. Let’s keep planning. Let’s keep moving forward with open hands, trusting that God is not only guiding our steps – He’s shaping a future far greater than we could imagine.
