Adventist Young Professionals Welcomes New Missions Leader

Toya Wolfe Joins as Assistant to the President for Mission

Adventist Young Professionals (AYP) is pleased to announce the appointment of Toya Wolfe as the new Assistant to the President for Mission, effective August 1, 2024. Wolfe, an experienced leader in youth and young adult ministry, will bring her extensive background and passion for spiritual growth to the AYP team.

Wolfe studied Youth and Young Adult Ministry at the Theological Seminary at Andrews University. Her professional journey includes roles such as Program Coordinator for Daytime Activities at the 2009 Courage to Stand Pathfinder Camporee with the Center for Youth Evangelism, and Youth Pastor for the Southeastern California Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. During her tenure as a Youth Pastor, Wolfe excelled in nurturing the spiritual and social lives of teenagers, chaperoning mission trips, and planning combined youth group events.

Most recently, Wolfe served as the Young Adult Leader at the Northbrook Seventh-day Adventist Church, where she supported the spiritual growth and community-building of young adults. She currently attends the Bolingbrook Church and resides near Chicago. Wolfe will begin integrating into the AYP team and learning about her new role effective immediately.

The transition will be facilitated by outgoing Assistant to the President for Mission, Xiomara Perdomo, who will train Wolfe and finalize the creation of ongoing missional content. Over the next month, oversight of mission content will transition to AYP Chaplain, Pastor Kayla Goodman, with the Mission Content Manager and AYP Librarian reporting to the Chaplain.
Effective August 1, Perdomo will assume the new position of Director of Mission Projects. In this expanded global leadership role, Perdomo will oversee AYP’s mission trips and convention outreach, and manage a new fund designed to support chapters seeking to enhance their missional impact through financial and operational support.

“I am thrilled to welcome Pastor Toya to our global leadership team. She brings tremendous wisdom and experience that I know will greatly advance AYP’s missional impact,” said Tim Kosaka, AYP President. “I am also excited for Xiomara as she transitions into a brand-new role that will oversee AYP’s missional programs across the globe. Since joining the team in early 2022, Xiomara has made significant contributions to the growth of AYP’s missional impact. I look forward to seeing how God continues to work through her in her new role.”
