Relationships: Unshaken in Our Love

-

Loving Like Christ in a World That Divides

Our culture often values winning over understanding and being right over being kind. This leads to love feeling fragile . But in God’s kingdom, love isn’t fragile—it’s the very foundation of our relationships.

Paul calls us in Philippians 2:2 to be “like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind.” This kind of unity isn’t about agreeing on every detail—it’s about being anchored in the same love that Christ has shown us.

John writes it plainly: “Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God” (1 John 4:7). Love isn’t optional for the believer—it’s evidence of who we belong to.

Our love has the power to be a witness in boardrooms, classrooms, coffee shops, and even in online spaces. When we choose to listen before we speak, to forgive before bitterness takes root, and to serve without keeping score, we reflect the heart of Christ in ways that words alone cannot.

But here’s the truth—love that is unshaken isn’t built in moments of ease. It’s forged in moments of tension, when the easier path would be to walk away, shut down, or write someone off. That’s when we lean into God’s Spirit, allowing His patience, grace, and compassion to flow through us.

This month, let’s commit to building relationships that are more than surface-level connections. Let’s be people who love deeply, serve generously, and stand firm in unity—even when the world around us is divided. Because in the end, it’s love that will last.
