Adventist Young Professionals (AYP) is pleased to announce key leadership transitions within its convention team as part of its ongoing efforts to scale and strengthen one of the organization’s largest and most impactful initiatives.
Jeavanie Desarmes, who has served as AYP Convention Co-Director since 2024, has been promoted to Executive Convention Director, a role in which she will provide visionary and strategic oversight of the entire AYP Convention experience.
Timothy Waters, also previously serving as Co-Director, has been promoted to Director of Convention Operations, where he will oversee logistics, event coordination, and operational systems across the four-day gathering.
“Both Jeavanie and Tim have demonstrated outstanding leadership, humility, and clarity of vision,” shared Alexa Calumpiano-Fox, AYP’s Vice President of Programming. “Their complementary strengths and tireless dedication have helped grow the AYP Convention into a globally recognized, spiritually impactful event. I couldn’t be more excited to see them step into these new roles as we continue preparing for AYP’s sixth convention in 2026.”
AYP Convention is the organization’s flagship annual gathering—bringing together hundreds of young professionals from across North America and around the globe for spiritual renewal, leadership development, authentic community, and practical mission training.
With the growth of this event, AYP is expanding its Convention Leadership Team and welcoming new applicants who are passionate about Christ-centered events and ready to use their talents for God’s glory.
AYP is currently seeking individuals for the following key roles:
• Director of Convention Marketing & Business Development
• Convention Marketing Coordinator
• Convention Guest Relations Coordinator
These roles will work closely with Desarmes, Waters, and the broader AYP Programming and Brand teams to elevate the reach, excellence, and ministry impact of the annual convention.

This leadership transition and team expansion come on the heels of the recently concluded 2025 AYP Convention: Behold, which hosted hundreds of young adults in Houston, Texas. Plans are already underway for AYP’s sixth annual convention—“Unshaken”—scheduled to take place August 20–23, 2026, in Austin, Texas, the birthplace of the very first AYP Convention.
