The Door Closed. You Did Everything Right. Now what?
You prayed, you prepared, you showed up, and the door shut anyway. That one stings differently.
In this episode of So Chi, Chidi gets honest about the kind of closed doors that don’t make sense, the ones where you thought God was finally saying yes, only for the opportunity to vanish right as you were about to walk through it. The disappointment of that is real, and this episode doesn’t skip over it. It sits in it.
What unfolds is a surprisingly personal confession about self-sufficiency, the kind that hides under good habits, hard work, and spiritual language. Chidi traces how she slowly made God a supporting character in her own story without realizing it, and how the closed doors weren’t punishment. They were the mirror.
And then, in true So Chi fashion, the episode itself became part of the lesson. There’s a moment in this one where the recording process and the message collide in a way that’s almost too close to home. Chidi’s own struggle to get it recorded turned into a live example of everything she was trying to say. You’ll know it when you hear it.
“A closed door is not always rejection — it is sometimes refinement.”
If you’ve ever felt confused, disappointed, or quietly angry at God over something that didn’t work out, don’t sleep on this one. Go give it a listen.
