Adventist Young Professionals (AYP) has launched a new global Bible study initiative designed specifically for young adults and young professionals: the AYP InVerse Bible Study Group.
The new initiative brings together young professionals from around the world to engage in thoughtful, Christ-centered dialogue around the Seventh-day Adventist Church’s official InVerse Sabbath School lesson. Through daily interaction and weekly virtual gatherings, participants study Scripture together while building meaningful spiritual community.
The group includes two primary components designed to foster ongoing engagement with the weekly Sabbath School lesson. First, participants connect through a global WhatsApp discussion group where members reflect on the daily InVerse readings and share insights, questions, and encouragement throughout the week. Second, beginning in April 2026, participants will gather for a weekly one-hour virtual Bible study on Thursday evenings at 9:00 p.m. Eastern Time via Google Meet.
During these weekly sessions, a rotating group of facilitators guides discussion around the week’s lesson. Rather than a lecture-style format, each session is intentionally designed as an interactive dialogue where participants explore Scripture together and apply its themes to their lives.
AYP’s InVerse gathering is intentionally scheduled on Thursday evenings to complement, rather than compete with local church programming. Many churches host ministry initiatives on Friday evenings and Sabbath mornings, and AYP’s goal is to create an additional space for young professionals to engage Scripture without pulling them away from their local congregation.
Many young adults today are not regularly engaged in Sabbath School. The AYP InVerse group seeks to address that challenge by creating a flexible, global community centered around the same Bible study curriculum used throughout the worldwide church.
“Sabbath School is a valuable resource, and we want to help young adults strengthen their connection to it,” said Gerald Bedney, President of Adventist Young Professionals. “Some young professionals attend churches that don’t have an active young adult class, and others are serving in ministry roles during Sabbath School time. This initiative gives them another pathway to stay engaged with the Bible study curriculum, while also building relationships with their peers.”
The initiative also reflects AYP’s broader mission of connecting and equipping young professionals to grow spiritually, develop meaningful relationships, and make a positive impact in their communities and the world.
