Meet Jordan Belliamy

A Journey of Faith, Service, and Spiritual Refining

Born in Milton Keynes, England, and raised in the vibrant Tampa Bay area, Jordan Belliamy grew up in a lively Caribbean-American household full of culture with her parents and older sibling. Today, she is entering her second year as a Doctor of Public Health student, concentrating on Diverse Populations and Health Equity. She has also worked in clinical research for about five years across several specialties, which has allowed her to learn about healthcare systems, access, and the lived experiences of patients of all ages and backgrounds. Through it all, Jordan sees her academic and professional path as evidence of God’s grace. “The Lord has been incredibly gracious to me throughout my academic journey, and I am excited to see how He allows me to use this degree in service to both my local and global community,” she shares.

A Childhood Rooted in Faith

Faith has been woven into Jordan’s life from the very beginning. “Church and faith have always been a part of my life,” she tells us. Her parents were actively involved in ministry, and she participated in every traditional Adventist program as she grew up, but it wasn’t until she graduated from Oakwood University and moved to Atlanta for her master’s degree that her personal walk with God really began.

“That transition was the first time I truly began seeking God for myself,” Jordan reflects. “I realized I had unresolved wounds and questions that I could no longer ignore, and for the first time, I recognized my need for a Savior.” Since then, her journey with God has been both beautiful and humbling. She sees how He has continually refined her character and called her to deeper service—including her work with AYP. “I credit everything I’ve accomplished to having a deeply rooted relationship with Him.”

Seasons of Refining and Growth

Jordan describes her spiritual life not as a single transformative moment but as a series of seasons where God revealed old, distorted ways of thinking and invited her into healing and transformation. Her walk has been a continual journey of refining, pruning, and repurposing. Her most recent season has been marked by the passing of her father — an intense experience that reshaped her understanding of grief and faith.

“Grief is such a strange and unpredictable thing,” she says. “There were moments when I questioned whether I was still growing spiritually. But grieving with God is far more bearable than grieving without Him.” Through this season, one promise has become especially meaningful: God’s assurance of being “a father to the fatherless,” as described in Psalm 68:5. Jordan testifies, “Through every wave of grief, He has remained faithful.”

Discovering AYP and Finding Community

Before this year, Jordan had never heard of Adventist Young Professionals. Feeling a deep desire for community with like-minded believers, she turned to Google in search of an Adventist young adult network. AYP was the first result, and it turned out to be exactly what she had been praying for.

“I was amazed to find such a well-organized, nationwide community of young adults who were passionately pursuing Christ together,” she recalls. Without hesitation, she looked for a way to get involved.

For the past eight months, Jordan has served as the Church Relations Assistant, a role she describes as “nothing short of a blessing.” Through planning, collaborating, and contributing to AYP’s vision, she has learned about the inner workings of the Adventist Church and discovered new ways to use her creative gifts. “Our team has grown tremendously since I joined,” she says. “I’m excited for what 2026 and beyond hold for both the Church Relations Department and AYP as a whole.”

Following God’s Leading

Jordan senses God preparing her for servant leadership in every area of her life. Her academic work, professional roles, and AYP involvement all require similar skills, and that alignment reassures her that she is exactly where God wants her to be.

“I’ve noticed that the same skills I use in AYP are the skills required in my professional work and academic journey- it’s all connected,” she says. Her prayer is to remain faithful and surrender to God wholeheartedly as He continues shaping her path. She also hopes to see AYP Tampa become active, thriving, and leaving a lasting footprint in the Tampa Bay area.

A Message for Other Young Professionals

Jordan understands how overwhelming young adulthood can be. It is an incredibly transitional season of life, with new careers, relationships, transitions, and pressures. In the midst of it all, she offers this encouragement: keep Christ at the center of everything you do.

“Without Him, we are incapable of accomplishing anything,” she says. “I’ve learned that God is deeply invested in even the smallest details of our lives. But He will never force Himself – He waits patiently for an invitation.”

Even when life doesn’t go according to plan, Jordan urges young adults to trust God enough to know that they are exactly where He intends them to be. Psalm 23 has been especially meaningful in her current season, reminding her that God is both guide and comforter, leading with intention and providing peace even in uncertainty.
