Adventist Young Professionals (AYP) President Gerald Bedney spent time this past weekend at Southwestern Adventist University as AYP participated in the North American Division of Seventh-day Adventists’ He Said Go XP, held March 12–14 in Keene, Texas.

He Said Go XP is organized by the North American Division’s Office of Volunteer Ministries and brings together church leaders and lay members who are passionate about mission and service. The event is designed to connect participants with opportunities for meaningful mission impact while equipping them with practical tools, resources, and inspiration to pursue God’s calling in their lives.

AYP’s presence at the gathering reflected the organization’s ongoing commitment to strengthening pathways for young adults to remain connected to faith, community, and service during key life transitions.

During his time in Texas, Bedney also met with leaders in Adventist higher education to explore ways AYP can support graduating seniors as they move into life as young professionals. These conversations focused on how churches, institutions, and ministries can better collaborate to ensure that graduates stay connected to supportive Adventist communities and are equipped for both professional and spiritual growth.

“Young professionals experience many transitions, but few are as formative as moving from college into the workplace,” said Bedney. “At AYP, we want to make sure that, throughout that process, recent graduates have a clear path to connecting with local churches and supportive community, can learn and grow with others in a similar phase of life, and feel equipped to thrive in their careers and as growing leaders.”

Through partnerships with churches, conferences, and Adventist institutions, AYP seeks to cultivate spaces where young professionals can build meaningful relationships, deepen their faith, and contribute their talents in service to their communities and the broader mission of the church.
