Speaker, Anthony Perdomo – New York City, New York

Anthony Perdomo: Hello, my name is Anthony Perdomo. I’m 18 years old and I’m from New York City. I’ve been a Seventh-day Adventist my entire life, born and raised. I decided to join this AYP mission trip to Miami, Florida because, despite being an Adventist, I felt somewhat isolated within my local church community. This trip was a chance to meet other Adventists, learn from their perspectives on faith and the Bible, and deepen my understanding of our shared beliefs.

Anthony Perdomo: The most impactful moment was when we engaged in door-to-door mission work after church one day in Miami. Despite many rejections, we decided to knock on one last door on a hunch. It turned out to be a significant encounter. The gentleman welcomed us into his home, and we had a meaningful conversation about our faith and community. He even expressed interest in visiting our church, which reaffirmed for me the importance of outreach and sharing the gospel with others.

Anthony Perdomo: Being surrounded by knowledgeable Adventists from diverse backgrounds during this trip to Miami significantly strengthened my faith. In my hometown, Adventists are few, and discussions about faith are rare. Meeting so many passionate individuals on this trip and witnessing their dedication to spreading the gospel inspired me deeply. It showed me the power of community and collective faith in strengthening one’s spiritual journey.

Anthony Perdomo: This trip taught me not to shy away from openly sharing my faith and beliefs. I learned the importance of courageously living out my faith, even in public settings where it may feel uncomfortable or unfamiliar. I plan to carry this newfound confidence into my daily interactions, unapologetically sharing God’s message of love and hope with those around me.

Anthony Perdomo: My message to anyone thinking about joining the upcoming AYP mission trip to Washington, DC is simple: Just do it. This experience isn’t just about learning more about our faith and church—it’s about personal growth, making lasting connections with like-minded individuals, and stepping outside your comfort zone to make a positive impact. Don’t hesitate; you won’t regret it.
