Adventist Young Professionals Announces Leadership Transitions and Welcomes New Executive Director of Mission

-

Adventist Young Professionals (AYP) is pleased to announce the appointment of Alexa Calumpiano-Fox as Vice President of Programming and the selection of Aisha Thermidor as the organization’s new Executive Director of Mission.

Fox brings a blend of passion, strategy, and experience to her new executive leadership role. As Vice President of Programming, she will oversee the organization’s global chapters, virtual groups, annual convention, mission initiatives, spiritual care programs, and resource development. The appointment marks a new season of strategic alignment and growth as AYP expands its impact among young adults around the world.

“Alexa has consistently demonstrated a deep commitment to our mission and a visionary mindset that makes space for others to grow,” said Tim Kosaka, AYP President. “From her early days leading our groups program to her more recent leadership as Executive Director of Mission, she has played a key role in shaping the culture, structure, and spiritual focus of AYP’s programming. Her transition into the Vice President role is a natural next step in the evolution of this movement.”

Fox originally joined AYP’s team in 2022 as Groups Director, where she oversaw AYP’s virtual communities, and was appointed Executive Director of Mission in 2024. Under her guidance, AYP has grown to welcome a diverse network of young professionals from across six continents, expanded community outreach, and a strengthened emphasis on spiritual wholeness.

With Fox stepping into her new role, AYP is excited to welcome Aisha Thermidor to the senior leadership team as Executive Director of Mission.

A graduate of Howard University, Thermidor has worked in sectors ranging from tech consulting to youth mentorship and refugee support. She has led and participated in service initiatives in Houston, D.C., New York, and Flint, Michigan, always driven by a core belief: that true service builds trust and long-term impact, not just one-time support.

“As soon as I met Aisha, I saw the heart of a servant leader,” shared Fox. “She combines strategic vision with a gentle strength that listens first and leads with empathy. Her story reflects resilience, her experience brings clarity, and her passion for sustainable mission makes her the perfect person to build on what God has started through AYP’s mission programs.”

“Missional impact is not about showing up once, but building trust, offering tools, and creating space for people to thrive beyond our presence,” said Thermidor. “In my new role, I look forward to furthering AYP’s goals of integrating faith, leadership, and service for lasting impact.”

This leadership transition comes at a pivotal time for AYP, as the organization launches its Vision 2028 Strategic Plan—a three-year roadmap grounded in four pillars: Spiritual, Relational, Leadership, and Missional. The plan reflects AYP’s commitment to deepening local community impact while expanding its global network of Christ-centered young professionals.

Previously, programming oversight at AYP had been shared between the Vice President of Financial & Administrative Affairs and the Chief of Staff. With the appointment of a dedicated Vice President of Programming and Executive Director of Mission, AYP is strengthening its infrastructure to better serve its expanding global community.
