AYP Announces A New Creative Publishing Initiative Focused On Storytelling and Mission
Adventist Young Professionals (AYP) is proud to announce that 71.5 Magazine, a Christ-centered publication amplifying the voices of Adventist young adults, is now a fully owned and operated project of AYP. This new partnership reflects a shared commitment to storytelling that uplifts, informs, and inspires the next generation of Seventh-day Adventist professionals around the world.
Under this agreement, AYP has acquired 71.5 Magazine. This move allows the magazine to continue its mission with greater infrastructure and strategic support, while integrating more closely into AYP’s growing ecosystem of faith-based resources for young adults.
Emily Long, who founded and led 71.5 Magazine independently, will continue as editor under the AYP umbrella. “This partnership gives 71.5 the structure and support to grow while staying true to its original purpose,” said Long. “Together, we can tell stories that bring clarity, courage, and connection to Adventist young adults navigating life and faith.”
AYP President, Tim Kosaka, emphasized the significance of the initiative: “Storytelling is central to how Jesus connected with people, and 71.5 Magazine provides a powerful vehicle for Adventist young professionals to do the same. We’re honored to bring this project into our mission and amplify its reach.”
The first pilot issue under AYP will launch in January 2026, guided by a 5-member Editorial Advisory Board comprised of AYP leaders and Seventh-day Adventist yearbook employees. The pilot will evaluate the project’s alignment with AYP’s mission, community engagement, and long-term sustainability. All content will be developed in harmony with AYP’s mission and the values of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
