John 7

Not Living for Human Timing

"My time has not yet come." (John 7:6)

Jesus never seemed rushed by pressure or public expectation. That keeps catching me, because so much of life feels driven by urgency and the fear of being behind.

Movement can be confused for obedience. Sometimes we pursue opportunities, decisions, recognition, not because God opened a door, but because the moment felt emotionally charged. Jesus moved with intention. Not pressure.

There’s also something I keep noticing: being misunderstood for a season takes real courage. The people around Jesus kept forming conclusions about who He was before they’d seen the whole picture. That still happens. Not everyone is going to understand your timing or your boundaries or what God is building in you right now.

Peace tends to come from trusting God’s direction more than public perception.

QUESTION TO CONSIDER
Where might pressure be shaping your decisions more than God’s timing?
