One of the easiest mistakes I make in leadership is slowly replacing dependence with self-sufficiency. Responsibilities grow, the pace picks up, and before long it’s possible to stay busy while quietly disconnected.
Jesus describes spiritual life less like striving and more like abiding. Remaining. Staying close. Fruit is the result of connection, not frantic effort.
I’ve seen burnout grow in myself when intimacy with God gets replaced by constant output. You try to sustain internally what was only ever meant to flow from Him. You keep producing for a while. But something goes hollow.
Healthy spiritual life isn’t built on doing more for God. It’s built on staying with Him.
QUESTION TO CONSIDER
Are you building your life from connection with Jesus, or just running on momentum?
