"Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you." (Acts 3:6)
The man at the gate was asking for money. God (through Peter) gave him the use of his legs.
That exchange has stayed with me because it names something true about how God works. People come with one request. God tends to address the deeper need underneath it. The man asked for coins to survive another day. He got a body that worked. He walked and jumped and praised God all the way into the temple courts.
Peter’s line is worth sitting with on its own. Not I don’t have what you’re asking for, sorry. He said: I don’t have that, but I have something. And he gave what he had.
A lot of us disqualify ourselves from being used by God because we’re looking at what we don’t have. The budget we don’t have. The platform we don’t have. The credentials, the training, the resources. Peter and John had none of those. They had the name of Jesus and the willingness to use it.
That’s usually enough for God to work with.

What are you withholding from God’s use because you’ve decided it’s not enough?
